  2. Harvey says:

I am old enough to have grown up with the beginnings of the feminist movement, when men were sexist pigs for politely holding a door open for a woman. Now, women like Diane Feinstein nationally and women legislators at the state level are at the forefront of limiting women’s options for self-defense. Instead of being able to open doors for ourselves, we are to cower at the phone begging for help to arrive sooner. There is a long record of “feminists” pushing left-wing positions rather than standing up for women. And they get away with it by playing to emotion and manipulating language.

Is anyone here familiar with the children’s book Frindle? The boy in the book decides to make up a word for “pen” and only use that word and see if it catches on (which it does). I propose that there should be a word in the English language specifically for women who are pushing to limit and ultimately take away women’s options for self-defense with guns. Of course there are other words that would immediately come to mind :-) but this is to have a word with no prior use and for this specific definition. Let’s brainstorm and come up with a new word, then see if it will catch on!

The libs so love it when a plan comes together. Watch for them to start blaming the Right. Boehner was leading Congress and put this together and now Hagel will be the one overseeing the demise. It’s coming.

    Stolen from AoSHQ…………..

…a timeless speech given by Ronaldus Maximus in which he quotes Churchill:

They say the world has become too complex for simple answers. They are wrong. There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right. Winston Churchill said that “the destiny of man is not measured by material computation. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we are spirits-not animals.” And he said, “There is something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty.”

Remember our duty, fellow travelers. The road is rarely smooth. The weather is often foul. The powers that be are never going to stand aside, and never will relent from the furtherence of their neo-aristocracy.

I don’t particularly believe that the way forward requires new ideas, or new plans. I think it requires only duty and the fortitude to weather the storm that has come to us with determination, and if possible, with good cheer.

Amen! When the “experts” ( remember Alan Greenspan?) blather on telling the masses a situation is too complex it is really just their way of saying “You are too stupid to have a valid opinion”. When in fact they are being intentionally obtuse in order to promote their own value.
      - Cut taxes and government spending, reduce red tape. Stand back and allow the American economy do the rest. Simplistic and guaranteed successful.
      - Crime. Prosecute crime. Uphold the Second Amendment. Crime goes down.
      - Foreign policy. No aide to people that hate us. Kill our enemies. The 9-11 attacks originated in Saudi Arabia. Bomb mecca. Repeat as necessary.
      - Healthcare. No free care to non-citizens or politicians. Allow insurance companies to operate nation-wide just like car insurance. Place ceilings on litigation amounts.
      - Energy. Drill baby drill and build reactors wherever localities will allow.
The government which governs least governs best.
      Did I leave anything out?

Something making the facebook rounds; first I heard about it so posted for those that don’t do fb.
It took awhile, but the man was finally asked by police to leave the crowning ceremony on Monday
““I first noticed the distress flag maybe a half hour before he was asked to leave- I am going to estimate about 0930, my picture files have time I transferred them, not the time I took them.

I tried to get closer to him, but the crowd was too thick. We were in the second tranche of the non-ticketed area, you can see the National Museum of the American Indian behind him as he is being escorted way, for reference….” http://offthefbwall.wordpress.com/2013/01/23/one-man-with-courage-makes-a-majority/

    Manti Te’O – “I briefly lied”. Isn’t that kinda like being a little-bit pregnant?

    • Bob says:

“Briefly lied” — that’s a good one. Wish I’d thought of that when I was a little kid and got busted for lying. (Not that it would have done any good — in fact my mother might have used even MORE soap, to punish me for being sassy.)

      • texan59 says:

At least you got soap. I got weaponry. Whatever could be reached in an instant. :)

        • Bob says:

By weaponry, do you mean the fanny whacker? I got that, too. A whack on the rear end is still better than a mouthful of soap. A spanking stings for a little while, but have you ever tried getting the taste of soap out of your mouth? To this day, half a century later, I am fanatical about rinsing all my dishes thoroughly after washing them, to ensure that not a molecule of detergent remains on them… because I know what soap tastes like. Ugh!

          • texan59 says:

Yes indeed. Wooden spoon, spatula, you name it. If it was some type of kitchen tool, it could be fair game. We never had the soap treatment thanks goodness. I had a number of friends who did though. Yuck!!!!!

            • Bob says:

All it taught me was never to swear when my mother was within earshot.

I’m happy to say that I never once gave any of my kids the soap treatment — never ever. I did send them to their rooms for their own protection occasionally — especially the middle two, who fought like cats and dogs.

The most effective lessons I ever learned were pretty much the most painful. I was a slow learner back then. :)
