Turning blue

Anyone with a functioning brain knows that if you reward something, you get more of it, and if you penalize something, you get less of it. But states and cities run by Democrats just keep piling on more taxes and regulations, and then they act surprised when their economies continue to worsen and businesses either go bankrupt or depart for greener pastures. Bill Whittle describes how excessive taxation and overregulation has affected one industry that is especially dear to his heart:

Phineas at Public Secrets comments:

“Confiscatory taxes, insane regulation, and a state government controlled by a party dedicated to looting the taxpayer to pay for a spoils system that rewards its clients, instead of governing for the good of all. California’s only success these days is in driving its most productive people elsewhere.

“Will the last business to leave California please turn out the lights?”

  1. So, is this enough evidence to prove that Liberalism doesn’t work, if not that it’s a mental illness? Hmmmm. I think it would be, if people thought with their noggins. Thanks for this, Bob! And special admiration to Chrissy for that graphic! 🙂

There is a liberal picture around that says something like how can a person think it is okay to cut a teacher’s salary but not ask a rich person to pay 3% more in taxes. It dawned on me that liberals don’t realize a couple of things. The first is that most conservatives don’t think that good teachers get paid enough. The second is that they don’t get that conservatives want fiscal responsibility, which means that the revenue from taxes are budgeted so that the threat of cutting teachers’ salaries can’t be used and that those elected officials don’t keep having to go to the well and tax WE THE PEOPLE. The third is that once they tax the rich and 100% and it still isn’t enough, then they will decide to tax the rest of us at 100% in order to pay THEIR bills and THEIR salaries.

Gotta keep building and working on something that I didn’t build to pay the taxes to the government so that they can pay for the roads that I drive on to go to work to keep building and working on something that I didn’t build to pay the taxes….

I just installed pull ropes on all my doors because I heard that the government is going to start taxing doorknobs and door levers, so I feel your pain.

Just thought you all needed a laugh, or two.

I, for one, appreciate Bill Whittle.

God Bless Texas. I went from a state that is light blue (imagine my surprise, I thought it would have been dark dark dark blue by this time…) to a RED state!

Can you imagine how I feel these days?
