Gasherbrum I vom Gasherbrum II[1]
Gasherbrum I, or K5 in the Karakoram Range between China (Tibet) and Pakistan, seen here from Gasherbrum II. The first winter ascent of this mountain was made on this day in 2012 by Polish mountaineers Adam Bielecki and Janusz Gołąb.

  1. K5! One of the few places left on earth where we can find ourselves surrounded by simple beauty without mans ugly destruction of God’s Word!

I get tired climbing the stairs these days. Can’t imagine the physical stamina needed to go that high in such thin air and under such difficult climbing circumstances.

It is Sunday over here and after putting up with a week of the Gillard circus coming to town er make that to Rooty Hill, West Australia had its State election. There was a swing….

4% of the swing was away from the Greens aka the Watermelons and I am delighted.

2% swing was away from the ALP

a further 2% was away from Independents

The current government in West Australia who are the Liberals-National Coalition, had a swing to them of 8.1%

This is interesting because if those results are repeated when we finally get our way, it is possible that the ALP will have no representatives in West Australia

    via Dave Barry…………………… 😆 ………………

Police are looking for a would-be bank robber who was told to wait his turn during an attempted heist in St. Clair Shores on Wednesday.

The 28- to 35-year-old man with short red hair, a mustache and goatee walked into the Flagstar Bank at 9 Mile and Harper at 2:17 p.m., according to a release issued by St. Clair Shores Police.

“He handed a note to the teller stating he had a pistol,” the police report says.

“The teller told him she was waiting on drive-through customers and he would have to wait.”

The man waited. As he stood in line, the bank manager asked if she could help him and he ran.

Witnesses said the man drove away in a black, late 1990s or early 2000s Pontiac, possibly a Grand Prix or Grand Am, according to police.

The man, between 5-feet 11-inches and 6-feet 3-inches tall, was wearing a multicolor hooded zip-up jacket, a baseball cap, tan pants and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Clair Shores Police at 586-445-5305.

At long last these are available for purchase ( in various finishes I might add). They are both expensive and impractical.. but soooo purty!
I’m also seeing these on ebay for almost $100 less.

Don’t mess with ‘old men’. If they can’t fight you…they’ll just kill you.
