just checking in. I am back home after our trip to Victoria (Melbourne). We stayed with my son for several days, went to see Walhalla and have a short train trip, then it was time to pack up and go home. Oh yes, I did get to spend a few days with my very cute and bright grand son. πŸ™‚

    • Glad to hear you had a good trip! We were just watching (tonight) a movie filmed along the Gold Coast of Queensland. So much beauty there. Makes us wish we could vacation there soon, but I don’t think it’s in the cards at the moment.

I have to tell you that the Kia Sorento fuel efficiency was absolutely fantastic. It was exactly as claimed at one point in this very long trip getting down to 6.9 per 100ltrs. Then we hit the winding roads, followed by some city traffic in Melbourne.

I have been along those coast roads in Queensland. It was back in 1988 when we travelled from Canberra to Townsville with the 2 cars. The Gold Coast itself is too touristy for me… but there are other spots further north well worth investigating πŸ™‚

Grunt we took the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. It was the first time I had done the Warnambool to Apollo Bay leg of the road. It is narrow and winding. We then took the car ferry from Queenscliff to Sorrento, and then stayed the night in Frankston. Then it was a trip to Arthur’s Seat but the chair lift is no longer in operation.

Now we are waiting to here that our grand daughter has been born. It is very close.

        • Glad to hear about your grand daughter almost ready to arrive. Is this your son’s daughter in Melbourne? Thanks for the info about Victoria. I agree, from what I’ve seen, that the Gold Coast is very touristy, but I’d still like to see it (if I can afford it). It sounds like the coast to the north is a lot more rural and quieter, with more natural scenic beauty. I’d definitely like to see that. Prayers for the birth coming up.

We need to find another Silent Cal.

    Who fits that bill today?
    Doc?
