  1. Glorious photo of the volcano top, Knight. Is that Mauna Kea? That was a good start to my Sunday! Best of luck with the boat trailer today if you end up playing around with that. Prayers continue for Pete.

  2. Wow. Like RP said yesterday, the media is really pulling a reversal on the Kermit Gosnell case. After some apologies, they’re really putting up real coverage of it. Even Anderson Cooper on CNN had a great piece about it. Hard to believe they came around after ignoring for so long.

Part of me is a cynic. The left does nothing because it’s the right thing to do. There is an ulterior motive. My guess is they will play up this story to get immigration (amnesty) and gun control (evisceration of the 2nd amendment) out of the news. Or is my reasoning just a bit too bitter, clinging to my Bible and guns?

      • Nope. I’m cynical, too. I truly believe they did it out of desperation; because it was becoming too obvious that they were spiking the story, and this was the only out for them that kept them relevant. It was the “smart” move, in addition to being the right move. I agree with you that they did it for the smart reason, not the right one. How can anybody argue otherwise? After all these news services have shown how viscerally they hate conservatives and the pro-life cause AND their chronic embrace of hard-core baby-killing politicians (Obama voted 3 times against restricting exactly the kind of murder that KG is in trouble for), it’s not hard to believe they’re stone cold heartless.

I’m a cynic too. I think they realized that the sheeple might actually start wondering what else they’re missing out on – especially with the conservative world making such a fuss about it. I always think about the scenes in Rear Window when the others, one by one, finally start believing the Jimmy Stewart character… The left can’t afford having sheeple waking up to the bias and the black-out of news that doesn’t fit the narrative. They’ll cover it and still manage to blame it on the pro-lifers. The comments on the WaPo article were disgusting.

It looks like Kirsten Powell is the one who has shamed them into action…. if so I am very surprised.

  3. Fuzzy love, from Claudia over at iotw.

  4. It does seem disturbing that DHS is increasingly taking over local law enforcement work. Why is that, anyway? Why is that their job? Why do they have unlimited funds when the Feds are supposed to be broke?

Plans for the construction of a $1.3B thirty meter telescope atop Mauna Kea, move forward.
