Are those balloons launching from a national park? Obama hasn’t closed the sky yet?

    • Heh! Well, they may be launching from Navaho land in New Mexico, but Oblowme wouldn’t shut them down, even if fewer than 100% of them voted for him. Not like up at Pine Ridge in South Dakota, where 160% of the population voted for Hope and Change. So they’re safe. πŸ˜‰

The National Park Service is doing itself irreparable image damage. I have no respect for their behavior.

    • Holy smoke, what was that clear plastic blouse Flo LaRue wore in that video? The late 60s were weird times. The 5thD could really sing, though. I didn’t realize that this was a song Jimmy Webb wrote for them until I looked it up on Wiki. Good memories.

  3. Now you done it, Sol. Got me thinking about anti-war songs that were stupid when we had to listen to them in the 70s. But now, “Save the Country” makes more sense than ever. πŸ˜€

  4. Just got back from serving as a pallbearer for a good friend who was just interred this afternoon at Fort Logan with full military honors. It was all volunteers, but I was shocked that the gates weren’t barrycaded. After all, it’s one of the biggest military cemeteries in the country, possibly second only to Arlington, which I would expect to be closed, too, given what’s going on. But I guess they’re still allowing military burials. That’s good.

It was an honor to help carry Bill Hudson, U.S. Army (Vietnam, China, N.Y. and recently one of my best church sound techs in Colorado) onto the grounds today. When the gunsmoke cleared and the flag was folded and presented to JoAnne, his wife, I thought I was gonna blubber like a baby. See you on the other side, Bill. Godspeed.

  5. Funniest parody in a while:
Space program revived in race to shutdown lunar National Park before anyone tries to visit.

    Excerpts:
Despite the government shutdown, Tesla Industries was given an immediate 2 trillion dollar contract to construct a space vehicle by the end of the weekend. Government spokesmen denied that the contract had anything to do with its founder and CEO’s generous donations to Obama.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled plans for the NPS Barackade this afternoon. The plans were drawn in crayon on a TGI Friday’s placemat, but look no less impressive for that.

β€œThe NPS Starship Barackade will have twelve Green engines powered by piles of recycled laptop batteries,” Musk told reporters while nibbling on an egg and cheese sandwich. β€œIt will recycle its wastes. Its outer skin is made of recycled aluminum from all the Tesla cars that burned up. Its rocket booster is powered by the recorded screams by Al Gore and Howard Dean. Its navigation system is lifted from a driving App we found at the App Store.”

Looks like they’re getting ready to “pivot” on this immigration bullsh*t. Again. πŸ‘Ώ

SCOTUS has a full plate this term. I hope it goes a little better than the last one.
