  1. Secret weapon against pirates? Britney Spears tunes.

True story. Can’t make this stuff up.

Today’s photo is of Hallstatt in Austria. Picture perfect photo!

  3. As Pete points out over on PoliNation:
Obama on Sandy Anniversary: โ€œWe Take Care of Our Ownโ€ฆ We Leave No One Behindโ€
There are some who are unavailable for comment.

    Unbelievable.

    Hell of a story.

      Great post!

    • Had to read the whole damn thing right away. Great story! First time I’d heard of that mission.

      Awesome story. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Read this a few years ago. Just glad to read it again ๐Ÿ™‚ What a group of dedicated men, who are “like minded” and have unity, can do is unbelievable. INSPIRING JUST INSPIRING!

      • Absolutely. I see it as more proof that you can’t rely on institutional standards when putting together teams of people to be heroes. I’ve heard it a bunch of times. Folks who play by the rules make great garrison soldiers, but they often make lousy heroes. Sometimes, it’s the ones who get in a lot of trouble, fail tests and drop out of school who you *might* want out there with you on those suicide missions. They’re the ones for whom loyalty and making a difference is more important than following regulations or getting an extra ribbon. Plus, they have really crafty guardian angels. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A sendoff on the old –

“School is a place where former A students teach mostly B students to work for C students”

        • Really, tell me about it. Ever heard of “Chuck Yeager”? History is full of these guys. Yet many unsung heroes are the ones an old buddy will tell you about that never gets written down. Many times for a godd reason too but these are quiet giants. I have personally witnessed those who step up out of nowhere and those you’d expect to and never did. And Grunt you know how I feel about Guardian Angels!!!

$80M for food stamp riots! As seen on FB, so it must be true. Sounds plausible though.

The illusion of freedom [in America] will continue as long as itโ€™s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.

  7. Can’t we just abolish the EPA? Didn’t Carter start that thing? DIdn’t we survive ok without it until then? I was a kid then, and I don’t remember black snow and flammable rivers. Of course, I didn’t live in Detroit.

  8. Here’s a fun poll just in time for Halloween: Name the Four Horsewomen of the Barackalypse. Never have so many women politicians effed up the country so quickly under the unified banner of the anti-messiah. Hat tip: iotw.

I have to go against common wisdom and exclude Moose. Most of her damage has just been psychological from being subjected to her fashion. The children will heal in time. I go with:
    1. Valerie “Rasputina” Jarrett.
    2. Kathleen Nefarius.
    3. Hillarius Clinton.
    4. Janet Napoliblammo. (write-in)
I also passed on Nancy Pelosi, because you can only do so much damage as a potted lobby plant with lipstick. “Dammit Janet” has wreaked more destruction with her little finger than Nancy can dream of.
