So, been on vacation the past week, dogsitting while Mom and Dad went to a conference in Boston, then to visit Gramma on Cape Cod. Turns out my spry, fiesty, 97 yr old granny has lost her health insurance coverage, thanks to ObamaCare.

Yesterday, went out shopping with Mom and two of her Nurse friends. Almost all the talk was how all the new regulations were strangling them, how their non-profit hospital, which had been struggling financially for years, due to all the illegal aliens and welfare cases they care for, is going to collapse. All of them were pointing to Obamacare as the reason. None of these women were, prior to all of this, particularly conservative. My mom was mostly conservative, with occasional liberal leanings, but these other women were always more liberal. They are furious with this administration, with the law, and very frustrated because they feel absolutely helpless. A feeling intensified because these are three caucasion women working in an inner-city DC hospital. Which is to say, they have the wrong skin color to have any ability to change or improve anything.

It’s a vexing thing. For all involved. And yes, if my granny dies with no health insurance, you betcherass I’ll be blaming everyone who supported O-care. . .

Will no one rid us of this troublesome woman? *sigh*

      • texan59 says:

Zoph, you must be feeling quite benevolent today – “troublesome woman”. πŸ™‚

She may have forgotten the spelling or customary grammar for “Medusa-headed, Rasputinesque destruction-maven sorceress from Hell.”

          • zmalfoy says:

I was thinking more Henry thewhatevernumber and St. Thomas Moore (? I think that’s the saint I’m thinking of? Though Val-girl is far from a Saint, IMHO)

        • zmalfoy says:

Darling, when I curse a woman, I actually Curse her. Don’t forget that. Therefore, I do try to moderate my thoughts and sentiments outside of those rare times when I’m willing to accept the responsibility/ consequence for such doings . . . (very, very rare.) It’s not something a good Christian girl like me is supposed to do, is it? Alas, 4.5 years in New Orleans will have a lifetime of habits. . .

In India, wealth is measured more than ever by the yellow metal. This is not just a cultural thing, but a show of no confidence in the global economy. Demand has never been greater, even as prices dip.

I am not familiar with this libation. However, this seems a tragedy to me. πŸ˜‰

  6. Pistol Pete says:

To no one’s surprise, democrats made a secret deal with insurance companies to use taxpayer money to reimburse them for up to 80% of their losses due to obamacare

  7. Harvey says:

For those whose health insurance policies are being cancelled, this is an option to consider:

    Hey… good news!

Looks like NASA’s MAVEN mission to Mars made it off the ground today.
This one will be studying the Mars atmosphere and climate change on the red planet. But I’m not sure why it was necessary. We already know they’ll blame Martian climate change on humans.

One interesting thing about this mission is that it will be racing the Indian space probe, which was launched earlier this month, to Mars. So… a whole new space race this time.

    • zmalfoy says:

I do hope they equipped it with enough electro-magnetic sensors. . . perhaps they can learn why previous rovers lasted longer than expected, and what that might have to do with everything. . .(And, the more I look, the less the “Canals” on Mars look like they were made by water . . .) Shrugs. Whaddo I know, my and my pseudo-science leanings. . . lol

      I kinda wonder if she’s married…and likes older men πŸ˜‰ . (lots older) πŸ˜†

      • GruntOfMonteCristo says:

After those pictures made the rounds, I bet if you type her name into google, “Melissa Bachman Marital Status” will come up as a very popular search. Not to discourage you, though. She probably digs worldly, suave shootists who know their way around Africa. Send in your resume! πŸ˜€
