HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! to all of my 4gfc brothers and sisters.

I pray that all of you have a wonderful day with your family and friends.
Despite everything that is going on around us, we do have a lot to be thankful for.

(If the conversation lags, you can always discuss the joys of obamacare with the liberals who may be in attendance. Or, the wonders of quantitative easing. Or, even the marvels of the current regime’s foreign policy coups.
Don’t say I never did anything for you. πŸ˜‰ )

Bless you all…and thanks for being here.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving. May God’s blessings shine upon you and your family.

    State of Connecticut
By His Excellency WILBUR L. CROSS, Governor:
    a Proclamation

Time out of mind at this turn of the seasons when the hardy oak leaves rustle in the wind and the frost gives a tang to the air and the dusk falls early and the friendly evenings lengthen under the heel of Orion, it has seemed good to our people to join together in praising the Creator and Preserver, who has brought us by a way that we did not know to the end of another year.

In observance of this custom, I appoint Thursday, the twenty-sixth of November, as a day of Public Thanksgiving for the blessings that have been our common lot and have placed our beloved State with the favored regions of earth β€” for all the creature comforts: the yield of the soil that has fed us and the richer yield from labor of every kind that has sustained our lives β€” and for all those things, as dear as breath to the body, that quicken man’s faith in his manhood, that nourish and strengthen his spirit to do the great work still before him: for the brotherly word and act; for honor held above price; for steadfast courage and zeal in the long, long search after truth; for liberty and for justice freely granted by each to his fellow and so as freely enjoyed; and for the crowning glory and mercy of peace upon our land; β€” that we may humbly take heart of these blessings as we gather once again with solemn and festive rites to keep our Harvest Home.

Given under my hand and seal of the State at the Capitol, in Hartford, this twelfth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirty six and of the independence of the United State the one hundred and sixty-first.

    Hello all! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving! Not a holiday on this side of the pond (we had split pea soup for dinner), but we enjoy not being bothered by US colleagues at work, and can catch up on admin stuff and e-mails. Hope you all had an extra portion of turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing for me (I’ll pass on the green “healthy alibi” vegetables like broccoli).

    • ZMike!! Happy Thanksgiving, friend! We were just talking about you around the table a few hours ago. Topic was Oprah, but it got around to your conversation and kind acts with the Swiss shop-keeper who was maligned by that onerous woman. You are a hero! I’ll have a drink for you, as well! Salud! I mean prost!!

  10. We are the truely Blessed

    To End Our Day!

Almighty God, we give you thanks for surrounding us, as daylight fades, with the brightness of the vesper light; and we implore you of your great mercy that, as you enfold us with the radiance of this light, so you would shine into our hearts the brightness of your Holy Spirit; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Grant us, Lord, the lamp of charity which never fails, that it may burn in us and shed its light on those around us, and that by its brightness we may have a vision of that holy City, where dwells the true and never-failing Light, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O Lord God Almighty, as you have taught us to call the evening, the morning, and the noonday one day; and have made the sun to know its going down: Dispel the darkness of our hearts, that by your brightness we may know you to be the true God and eternal light, living and reigning for ever and ever. Amen.

Seek him who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns deep darkness into the morning, and darkens the day into night; who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the surface of the earth: The Lord is his name. Amen.

It seems that a couple of people have made the D’ohbama Enemies List; for having the audacity to question and/or defy the wishes of our imperial pResudent……

    http://floppingaces.net/2013/11/28/cancer-patient-who-spoke-out-against-obama-is-audited/

Now suddenly Bill Elliot is being audited for 2009 with an interview only scheduled in April 2014. Assuming he lives that long. That might be a coincidence, but Tucker is being audited back to 2003.

    That’s a rather strange coincidence.

I despise this fascist regime! 😑

    • barnslayer says:

No coincidence at all. Plus, I always thought they could not go back more than 6-7 years. There’s a congressman getting sponsors together to repeal the 16th Amendment.

      http://www.repeal16.org/about.html

In light of all this, how many petition signers will experience similar coincidences?

      • texan59 says:

Every one of them. The IRS and the rest of this thugocracy has done a masterful job of intimidating one-half of the Country. For this reason, I’ve chosen not to join any Tea-Party org’s, let lapse my membership to Heritage and only keep my NRA dues current.

One rherorical question I have is whether or not a republican POTUS would do anything to clean out the cesspool of the IRS and FEC once in office. As a starting point. πŸ‘Ώ

        • barnslayer says:

That depends on how we define a “republican”. Jeb Bush, Christie… not a chance.
Cruz, West …. maybe. I haven’t heard them weigh in on that stuff.

          • texan59 says:

I agree. It was a little wishful thinking on my part that someone like Ted Cruz or even Rand Paul might have a chance.

            • barnslayer says:

I was saying that even Cruz and Paul may not think in that direction. But I’m willing to take that chance and vote for them anyway. Gotta be an improvement.
