  1. The official advice of the day is from the verse of the day: Isaiah 1:16. However, the alternative fun advice of the day is this:

  2. Meanwhile, in Winnipeg…

But don’t tell these guys. They’re busy doing “science.”

  3. Pope Franco is making it real hard for those of us who’d like to defend him.

Between his recent statement about “war leads to war,” which is an idiotic statement, and this statement about authentic Islam being about peace, I’m about to give up on this guy. I’m hoping he gets a backbone soon. I’m not looking forward to apologizing to Ann.

Maybe Catholics ought to think about term limits? ….Wearing nomex and ducking for cover.

      • History tells us that’s what the crimsom pillow was all about 😦 but unfortunately it was always one sided.

        • I’m trying to look up the “crimson pillow,” but so far, no idea what that is. Can you explain, Chief?

          • Grunt, the “Crimson Pillow” (within the circles of the Vatican elite) is a reference to being smothered, in their sleep, by the white laced pillow the pontiffs use for either their feet or to sit upon. Crimson the white pillow becomes. Kind of a crass remark, sorry, but none the less the history of murdered popes is long and vast. Disinformation runs on both sides of the gauntlet unfortunately. This is one of the reasons why I try to remind us all that it is our “Faith” and good works that save us, not our leaders. Interestingly enough there has been Saints on both sides of Popes and Anti Popes. I love God for this because it is not the institution that makes them a saint but their great love and devotion to God (which bears good fruit) that does! I don’t want to get into this too much right now publically, but for those who follow their Faith with belief and TRUST in God, God will never fail them, only man does.

      • Well, this guy probably doesn’t need term limits. If he keeps wandering around in Brazilian barrios and Roman streets at night without body guards, he won’t last too long. Now OBlowMe, on the other hand… I’m not sure he’s even gonna abide by our 8-year term limit we think we have on him.

        • Shalini says:

          Seriously? Hmm…

          • No, not seriously. I’m impressed at the Pope’s faith in being able to be out among the people without fear, and I expect him to continue to be protected. I continue to support him, but his recent statements are frustrating me. To be so enthusiastically accommodating to Islam really seems to be an abandonment of all the thousands, if not millions, of Christians being threatened and slaughtered around the world more than ever before. Pope Benedict called for the release of Asia Bibi. Repeating that statement would be a good start, it seems to me. There’s a time for reconciliation and a time for condemnation, and this sure doesn’t seem like a good time for the former, but I’m no expert.

    • In these times of oppressiveness (towards Christianity in general) it is very important, imho, to keep yourselves clean and have that personal relationship with God. Christ brought TRUTH (which we all seek here at GFC) into the world. Since that time there has been an unending barage of “disinformation” and anti-Christian movements designed to “Kill The Messenger” in order to abolish His message. That is the same thing that transpired when Islam came into existance and since that time it has and continues to be a Christian killer. You can call it anything you want and try and “translate” it any way you want but it does not change the facts. Uncover and take the smoke away and call it for what it is, EVIL!
We must watch the “fruits” of our leaders and never be institutionalized to the point where you give up your Faith” in what you believe in because of what any institution has done! There will always be good and bad leaders but our Faith in what we learned from Christ should never change! Christ is not progressive nor does he change, only man does. IMHO. So always be vigilant and keep your eyes n ears wide open!

President Barack Obama and the Democratic Senate are considering sweeping legislation that will provide new benefits for many more Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition.

“Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society,” said California Sen. Barbara Boxer. “We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability (POI) to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they have some idea of what they are doing.”

In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pointed to the success of the U.S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance. At the state government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has an excellent record of hiring Persons with No Ability (63 percent).

Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million mid-level positions will be created, with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance.

Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees. The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability (POI) into middle-management positions, and give a tax credit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the Americans With No Abilities Act contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the non-abled, banning, for example, discriminatory interview questions such as, “Do you have any skills or experience that relate to this job?”

“As a non-abled person, I can’t be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them,” said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint, Mich., due to her inability to remember righty tighty, lefty loosey. “This new law should be real good for people like me. I’ll finally have job security.” With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other lazy untalented citizens will finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Said Sen. Dick Durbin, IL: “As a senator with no abilities, I believe the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to every American with no abilities. It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her inadequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation and a great salary for doing so.”

This message was approved by Jesse Jackson, Kathleen Sebelius, Al Sharpton, Susan Rice, Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama.

  5. I thought this was a bunch of crap. But today I happened to notice and, just to spite me, the dog took a dump facing due north.

We’ve all heard by how all the mass shootings involved mental instability. The govt will now decide what constitutes that condition. The medical questionnaires asking about guns + your medical and pharmaceutical records will be used against you. Confidentiality? Not their concern. Post traumatic stress, crime victim, insomnia, PMS, you name it the govt may call all of it a disqualifier.
