Great pics to start off the weekend. Here’s what happens when you have an ambitious young man who’s enthusiasm for doing “good”, exceeds his academic limitations. 🙄

I always figured unions help two kinds of people.
The guy who otherwise would get fired and the guy at the top collecting the dues.

These college athletes are going to realize…
-They are shortsightedly opening the door for some new union boss.
      – Going to have less control over their lives.
      – Inviting parasitic lawyers possibly kill their sport while claiming to be looking out for their best interests.

Now what about amateur status? They gonna give Jim Thorpe back his awards?

I want to be there when they take the union dues out of the first “check”. I can understand representation at the pro level, but this kid doesn’t have any clue that he’s gonna get credit for killing the golden goose. He has no clue that he will kill off every other collegiate sport except for big-time football and basketball. Ladies field hockey – gone. Swimming, wrestling, lacrosse, all gone.
That being said, I’m old enough now that I don’t spend much time watching college sports including much football so I don’t have too big a dog in the fight, but it tells me that the educational system is pretty much a dismal failure even at “esteemed” institutes of higher learning, but most of us here already knew that. I would enjoy a conversation with a 10 year-old who has some concept of critical thinking abilities than most 35 year-old college graduates today. 🙄

  2. OMG. Leland Yee “suspended with pay” for arms trafficking. What would it take to get a Democrat suspended without pay? Genocide? No, they already do that. Hmmm. Gotta think on this one.

  3. Piers wraps it up by doubling down on his unsupportable whopper that “more guns equals more violence,” and by insisting that the military should have an absolute monopoly on deadly force, an idea absolutely antithetical to the Constitution, the Founders’ beliefs, all of American history and common sense, itself.

The film’s TV ads were enough to keep me away. Looked too much like a Viking/post apocalyptic flick. My general rule is… if the TV ad can’t sell me, the film is crap. They jam the best bits they have into those commercials. If that falls flat, the movie is gonna stink.
Also… if you hear a baritone sing-song voice-over and overused top 40 music (often mixed with rhythmic clapping) be forewarned…. it’s a chick flick. Yes, I know Adam Sandler and Bill Murray were funny on SNL and in some earlier films but don’t say I didn’t warn you. In addition… any film that has ANYONE from the cast of Friends or How I Met your Mother…. chick flick.
This has been a public service announcement.

      • Amen to that. Maybe the only exception I can think of is Bruce Almighty, which was kind of a chick flick, and had both a Friends cast member(Aniston) and The One Whose Annoyingness Will Cause You to Abandon The Will To Live(Jim Carrey), but it had redeeming qualities, good humor and Catherine Bell’s *ahem* personalities.

Gruntessa got me to see Date Night once, which was also a Red Alert by the Barn Rules listed above. Steve Carrell was ok, but I’ll have to be anesthetized to see Tina Fey ever again.

An Alabama Congressional candidate, Republican Will Brooke, did what a lot of Americans feel like doing and shot up a copy of Obamacare legislation. He filmed the act for an ad that will be running in his district this year. Live vicariously through Mr. Brooke as he destroys the massive healthcare mess with hot lead!

“At the conclusion of the U.S.-EU Summit held this week in Brussels, President Obama and his European colleagues released a joint statement reaffirming their common commitment to civilian disarmament as mandated in the United Nation’s Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).

While globalist and establishment media reports focus on the summit’s attention to the events in Crimea, there is a provision at the end of the statement that is of much greater concern to Americans aware of the crescendo of calls for restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms.

Paragraph 33 of the declaration released on March 26 states: ‘We reaffirm our joint commitments on non-proliferation, disarmament and arms control.’

Among other agreements, President Obama, in the name of the United States, joined with the gathered heads of state in promising: ‘We will also work together to promote the entry into force of the Arms Trade Treaty in 2014…'”
