  1. New Calvin & Hobbes art shows up in the funnies for first time since 1995.

I have a number of paperback editions of Calvin 7 Hobbes and Bloom County. Some of the funniest, wittiest humor aimed at adults I’ve ever read.

Newly Published Bible Earning ‘Duck Dynasty’ More Liberal Hate
Well, the Robertson family continues to irk all the right people. The Duck Dynasty stars recently partnered up with publisher Thomas Nelson to publish a “Duck Commander Faith and Family Bible” and that gave liberals another reason to hate the famous Christian family.
They just don’t get it.With God as a foundation there is nothing the left can do or say to hurt this family.if all their wealth and fame were gone tomorrow they’d still have God,Family and Country.I’m quite sure that would be enough to sustain them.

    • I hate it. I think it was a mistake. But as I said over on iOTW, diplomacy is like sausage making. You don’t want to pay too much attention to the details of how it’s made.

      • barnslayer says:

        Excellent analogy!

        • Thanks. Hey, changing subjects, I just got around to buying some ammo for that Colt of yours. I bought it all pre-loaded onto stripper clips, which is pretty convenient, really. I’ve been told there’s an adaptor that allows you to load them, 10 rounds at a time, into the mags, but the one that came with it doesn’t appear to fit the mags in any obvious way. I’m felling pretty stupid now, ’cause I have an M1A all set up to take stripper clips which I can’t get, and a Colt AR with ammo on clips, and no way to load them, at least until I order the right part. I think you should have sold your gear to somebody brighter.

          • barnslayer says:

The AR15 ammo is on clips so you need a stripper clip guide to load the mags.
It’s also called a stripper clip spoon. Here’s one on a mag with the clip ready to load and other spoons at the bottom of the picture

            How to:

Or if you don’t want to wait until you get the clip guide you could slide the ammo off the clips and load them one at a time into the mag. That’s how I did it. I didn’t get any striper clips for the M1A or AR15.

You can get the clip guides on ebay,
            Cheaper Than Dirt

          • barnslayer says:

I’m not sure what you mean by having the M1A set up to take stripper clips?

            Here’s Amazon’s offerings for the M1A

Different size due to different caliber and mag.

            How to:

Again, you can just load the ammo directly into the mags one round at a time as an option.

Let me know if something isn’t working or you need other sources for this stuff.

            • Thanks, Barn! Good stuff, but I was just complaining for the sake of complaining. I already have the guide spoon for the AR-mags, but I was a little ashamed that without watching a video I couldn’t figure out how to use it. After seeing it done, it’s pretty easy, and I’m glad I bought the ammo already on clips. Sorry, I didn’t mean to make you go looking for videos for me.

What I meant with the M1A was that the guide is right there on the rifle, and I’d love to get some clips to make it easier to load, but I haven’t yet. Like you pointed out, it’s easy enough to find online.

Nother topic: Just got to see Lone Survivor. Seen it yet? Awesome movie.

              • barnslayer says:

Haven’t seen it yet. We’ve been gun shy about a lot of films. We wind up taping it off cable or off PPV if we feel like splurging. Either way we can dump it if it turns out to be something we don’t want to put ourselves through. I think the last film we saw in the theater was the Three Stooges remake two years ago. We had a good time. Hey, ya gotta do something special on those wedding anniversaries.

              • One of the boys actually bought the blueray of Lone Survivor today, so we watched it at home. I’m with you on theaters. It’s risky bidness.

            • Just noticed that photo you posted up top. That’s the one I needed to see. For some reason, I was too brain dead to figure out how to slide that thing on the grooves along the back side of the mag. Good pic. Thanks!

              • barnslayer says:

BTW, the link for stripper clips for the M1A (Amazon) will show you can get clip guides/spoons for the M1A as well. That way you can preload those M14 mags just like the AR15 mags.

I, as a Christian Catholic, loathe this. Scandalous. And yes, I too believe it was indeed a mistake. These types of mistakes are becoming alarmingly more frequent within the leadership of the Christian Faith.

There are certain lines that a Christian should never cross. A Christian has no business joining in prayer along, and in unity, with non-Christians. You do not compromise your Faith or the dignity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, just for humanistic causes… period.

Our Lord said: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father, but by me.” That would exclude the Muslim.
“I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes in me, although he be dead, shall live.” That would exclude the Muslim since he does not believe in the Son of God.
“For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Well, there is a problem when you have a Muslim in your midst. For a Christian to pray along in unity with a praying Muslim, or anyone of other religions, is to acknowledge that God would hear their prayers and (in short) that there is no need to be converted to the true Faith in order to attain eternal salvation. In this case, regardless of whether or not there was “political” intent, or if it was “diplomacy”, to place the humanistic cause of “peace” between the Christians, Jews, and Muslims before the sacred dignity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Truth, and the Faith, I believe, was a mistake.

“He that believes in the Son of God, has the testimony of God in himself. He that believes not the Son, makes him a liar: because he believes not in the testimony which God has testified of his Son. And this is the testimony, that God has given to us eternal life. And this life is in his Son. He that has the Son, has life. He that has not the Son, has not life.”

“Among the many deplorable evils which disturb and afflict both ecclesiastical and civil society, two stand out in our day and are justly considered to be the cause of the others. In effect, you are aware of the innumerable and fatal damages which the hideous error of indifferentism causes to Christian and civil society. It causes us to forget out duties to God in whom we live and act and have our being. It causes us to slacken our concern for holy religion and shakes almost to destruction the very basis of all law, justice, and virtue. There is little difference between this hideous form of indifference and the devilish system of indifference between the different religions. This belief embraces people who have strayed from the truth, who are enemies of the true faith and forget their own salvation, and who teach contradictory beliefs without firm doctrine. They make no distinction between the different creeds, agree with everybody, and maintain that the haven of eternal salvation is open to sectarians of any religion. The diversity of their teachings does not concern them as long as they agree to combat that which alone is the truth. You see, dearly beloved sons and venerable brothers, how much vigilance is needed to keep the disease of this terrible evil from infecting and killing your flocks. Do not cease to diligently defend your people against these pernicious errors…” – Pope Pius IX

Rather than bring a blessing, this act could very well make matters worse for ALL Christians as well as the desire for peace in the Mid-East. Islam IS EVIL. Islam IS ANTI-LIFE, ANTI-TRUTH, and ANTI CHRISTIAN. Islam teaches that you can LIE about your faith for the cause to deceive and further the Islamic cause in this world. EVIL. For Christians, it is the opposite. We do not deny our Faith, even to the point of giving your life for Truth to attain eternal salvation. We follow the examples, teachings, and footsteps of Jesus Christ, Who chose the cross. He died for Truth. This is FAITH. Our Faith. In this way we, Christians, LIVE.

Let us as True Christians protect our Faith, preserve the Truth, and uphold the dignity of our God.
