I just got into a heated argument about the Constitution with a very hard-headed liberal. This person told me that Thomas Jefferson and the rest of the Founding Fathers intended for the Constitution to be a “living document” so that it could change with the times. According the liberal, this “fact” is written by Thomas Jefferson somewhere… When I asked this person to find it for me, I was told it was in the Federalist Papers!!! AHHHH!!!! This liberal claims to be an “expert” on all things historical, yet gets just about everything wrong. Of course, I’ve been told that I’ve been “brain-washed” by the right-wingers and that she would love to read the the books that I’m reading because they are all wrong.

Problem is, they take the fact that the Constitution can be amended, and use that to claim they can annihilate the Bill of Rights, which were established to be immutable. Just ask her why she wants to change the BofR and take rights away from the PEOPLE. Is she ANTI-PEOPLE???
I was back east in May. Daughter and I went to visit Monticello and Montpelier. The tour guide referred to the Constitution as a “living document” and called the founders progressives. Montpelier was well worth a visit, but James Madison must have been rolling in his grave.
The family and I just visited Monticello two weeks ago. Fortunately, for my blood pressure, we took the Family Friendly tour geared toward young children. I am not surprised by the comments from the tour guide. Charlottesville is a liberal cesspool, beautiful area though.
