Today we celebrate learning about Shalini’s brand new baby boy. He’s just slightly over a week old today. Mother and child are happy and doing well! Congratulations, Shal and Jim!!

      The really irritating thing is that most purchases of Everclear aren’t for drinking– it’s a great cleaning liquid, and I use it to pull oils out of vegetable material, which is a way easier distillation than steam or boiling.

      And talking to the peeps at the local liquor store, they tell me that most people by it to clean glass, or other things that need strong alcohol as a solvent.

      . . . so, they’re really banning a cleaning solvent in order to reduce drunken crimes.
