BREAKING: Federal Judge Rules AR-15′s Are “Dangerous and Unusual,” Not Protected by 2nd Amendment
In what looks to be a terrible ruling for Maryland gun owners a federal judge has essentially ruled that guns that were regulated by the state of Maryland last year, including AR-15 and AK style rifles (as well as other magazine fed, semi-auto rifles with certain features), “fall outside Second Amendment protection as dangerous and unusual arms,” according to a 47 page opinion by U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake.

Obama Issues Statement on Brown Shooting
President Obama today issued a statement from Martha’s Vineyard on the shooting death by a police officer of Michael Brown, an 18 year old African American.
Brown was killed in a St. Louis suburb. The identity of the officer who shot him has not been released, but much of the local police force is white. The killing has sparked riots in the area.
The death of Michael Brown is heartbreaking, and Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and his community at this very difficult time.
As Attorney General Holder has indicated, the Department of Justice is investigating the situation along with local officials, and they will continue to direct resources to the case as needed.
I know the events of the past few days have prompted strong passions, but as details unfold, I urge everyone in Ferguson, Missouri, and across the country, to remember this young man through reflection and understanding. We should comfort each other and talk with one another in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds. Along with our prayers, that’s what Michael and his family, and our broader American community, deserve.
He has never mentioned the tens of thousands of Christians that have been slaughtered in Iraq and Syria or even the weekly body counts in his ‘hometown’ of Chicago.
Sheriff David Clarke Beats Bloomberg’s Money, Defeats Anti-Gun Opponent
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Sentinel Journal has Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke (D) defeating challenger Milwaukee police lieutenant Chris Moews by nearly 5 percent.
According to the Sentinel, Clarke garnered 56.8 percent of the vote to Moews’ 52.1.
This percentage is slightly less than that with which Clarke won in 2000 — when he beat Moews by six points — but the August 12 victory comes after Michael Bloomberg dumped $150,000 into the race against Clarke.
Other liberal groups, like the Greater Wisconsin Committee, funneled approximately $400,000 into the race against Clarke.
Clarke raised the ire of gun rights opponents in January 2013 when he asked Milwaukee County citizens to get familiar with a firearm they could use to defend their lives during the time that passes between calling 911 and police arrival.
